Two Weeks With June in November!

Hello Everyone!

Well, it's been about two weeks since little Junebug decided to make her appearance. Just here to give the rundown of events while she sleeps.

So labor was pretty challenging (duh) but we made it through. I had back labor and it was very intense, add to that this baby was about 9 1/2 lbs--but somehow I was able to push her out. I still don't get how it's possible. I was in labor for about 12 hours. We delivered at the Nurse Midwifery Birthing Center. It was an all-around crazy experience. During the pushing portion of our evening, the midwife felt as though June's heart rate was dropping too much with each contraction and decided she wanted to head over to the hospital for additional help. I was in a crazy state at that point, all I heard was "get in the car and go to the hospital" when all I could do was push. All I could imagine was me having a baby in the hospital lobby or even worse--in the car on the way over there. So I kept pushing. It was all I could do to communicate that I DID NOT want to go to the hospital, I just wanted the pain to subside and to meet my baby. And a few minutes and a couple f-bombs later I had June on my chest. It was INSANE! Best feeling ever. We had her at 7:20am and left the Birthing Center at about 2pm. We got some Cafe Yumm on the way home and so began our life with June!

So that's the quick and dirty version of my labor. Life with June has been pretty sweet, though quite an adjustment! The first few days I kept thinking to myself "What have I got myself into?! This is crazy!" But the more time we spend together, the more I get to know her, the more she gets to know Dusty and myself, it feels very comfortable, like she's always been hanging around. She's such a sweet baby so far, she's definitely got a Scorpio spirit about her, though!

Here are some pictures... Many more to come!
